Public transport normally involves travelling toward Muiden and completing the last section on foot or by local connection. The castle advises checking 9292 for current journey information. In 2026 it also operated the weekend MuiderslotExpress (line 510) from P+R Muiden to Vestingplein from 24 April to 16 October, with a roughly 10-minute ride; seasonal services should never be assumed to run outside their published dates.
The official castle site flagged major A1 roadworks from 3 July to 17 August 2026. That specific closure period has passed, but checking live transport remains worthwhile because this is not a central-city attraction.
Driving and parking
The castle recommends parking outside central Muiden rather than relying on limited paid spaces near the historic centre. Its current guidance lists free P1 parking at Maxisweg/Weesperweg at about a 15-minute walk, and free P+R Muiden at roughly a 30-minute walk. Visitors with an eligible disabled parking card can park near the entrance under the castle’s stated arrangements.
